Its first paragraph was quite dramatic. “Indian opener Virender Sehwag has dramatically raised the temperature surrounding Thursday’s first Test against Australia in Bangalore by loudly claiming the Australians cheated to win the spiteful Sydney Test match in January.”

I concur that the cricket media has become too focused on personality and sensationalism even inventing stories when none exist.
If you believed what you read in the paper and heard on radio and television you would think that the players hate each other when in fact the reverse is true.
They mostly enjoy each other’s company after play and attend many functions together wiwth their families in tow.
Although there are some exceptions this is hardly surprising because who else could they discuss the pro and cons of playing international cricket.
As they say Birds of a Feather Flock Together and many cricketers past and present have formed lifelong friendships from playing against each other.
The reason I started my blog was because I was dismayed at the media’s degeneration and I am usually careful not to fall into the trap of promoting scurrilous hearsay.
Well Done Homer for reminding people of the collapse of respectful media coverage. It is an insult to both players and fans!!

Nestaquin,
This article was written by Mr G Rajaraman .
But it does bring home the point of the media so self obsessed that it has begun to blur the line between fact and fiction.
TRPs have become the guiding light on what is newsworthy and what is not.
